The entry process
Who can enter the awards?
All nominees or co-nominees must be currently employed in a pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic or biotech company. Entries will only be accepted from vendors, solution providers or consultants if the project they are entering is in association with a pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic or biotech company. What are the categories?
There are five award categories:
· Most Valuable Patient Initiative
· Most Valuable Collaboration
· Most Valuable HCP Initiative
· The Patient Champion Award
· Lifetime Achievement Award
Can I enter more than one category?
Yes, however you must submit a different entry form for each category which is aligned to the judging criteria.
What’s the difference between the European and North American Awards?
eyeforpharma run two awards ceremonies per year, one for Europe and one for North America. The entry process is the same for each region, the only difference being the date of the Judging Day and Winners Announcement. Entries should be entered into the awards based on the relevant region of activity, or the region closest to you. An entry can only be shortlisted for one of the awards ceremonies per year. eyeforpharma reserves the right to place an entry into a different region if they deem fit.
How much does it cost to enter?
The eyeforpharma awards are free to enter.

11 March 2019 – Judging Day for European finalists

The judging process
How are the awards judged?
All entries in each category will be judged by all the category judges and are scored against clearly defined criteria outlined for each award. Each criteria is scored to a strictly enforced marking system, and the final scores for each criteria are added together to result in the winner. See the full entry process here.
Who are the judges?
Each award has a panel of carefully selected industry expert judges and customer judges. Meet the judges here.
How do you choose the judges?
The eyeforpharma Awards have an exclusive focus on patient and customer value, so we have recruited senior pharma experts, and most importantly, customer judges, to give their opinions on the nominations. Finalist expectations and deadlines
Finalists for both the European and North American awards will be notified and announced on 23 January 2019.
I’m a finalist, what happens next?
As a finalist you will need to prepare the following outputs, in order to be in with a chance to win:

The judging day
The Judging Day will take place on 11 March for European finalists and 15 April for North American finalists.
What does the Judging Day consist of?
The Judging Day consists of a 10 minute presentation in front of the judging panel of between 5-10 judges, Q&A with the judges and interviews with press.
Is it compulsory to attend the Judging Day?
Yes. If you don’t present, you will be disqualified.
How many people can present at the Judging day?
Up to 5 can present. You simply need to let eyeforpharma know at least 1 month prior to the Judging Day.
Can we present virtually?
No, your initiative must be presented in person.
What time will my presentation be scheduled?
Lucy Fisher or Izzy Gladstone will email you the time of your presentation no later than 1 month prior to the Judging Day.
Will I get live feedback?
Yes, directly following your presentation there will be a Q&A session, thus providing a learning and development experience for each finalist.
Can my colleagues attend the Judging Day?
Yes, we encourage your colleagues to attend to watch all of our finalists present their inspirational projects and case studies. As a finalist you receive discounted tickets to attend.
The finalists video and poster
What will the video be used for?
The primary purpose of the video is to be shown prior to the awards announcement at either eyeforpharma Barcelona or eyeforpharma Philadelphia. We will also show them on a screen at the conference once the award winner has been announced. Your video is not used to judge your initiative – it is simply to provide attendees at the conference with an overview of your initiative.
We would also like to put the videos on www.eyeforpharma.com/awards pre and post announcements to give the initiative some additional exposure.
We will put the videos all videos on the eyeforpharma YouTube channel. If you don’t want this to happen let Lucy or Izzy know when you send it to them.
What file type should the video be?
.MP4 or equivalent. Do not send a Vimeo or YouTube video. We need the original file.
What will the poster be used for?
Your poster will be shown to judges prior to assessment day and form part of your entry. The poster will also be displayed at at either eyeforpharma Barcelona or eyeforpharma Philadelphia conference. It will not be judged.
The winners announcement
When will winner be announced?
Winners will be announced during conference keynote sessions at eyeforpharma Barcelona on 12-14 March for the European awards and at eyeforpharma Philadelphia on 16 April for the North American awards. Conference timings are still being worked on and you will be sent timings roughly 2 months before the event.
If we can’t attend, will we be disqualified?
No. But we recommend you have someone there to accept the award on your behalf.
Do we have to register for the conference?
Yes, all finalists who want to see whether they have won need to register for the respective conference. Each initiative receives heavily discounted passes to attend. Details will be sent to you if you are shortlisted as finalists. Patients will be able to attend free of charge.
Are there special rates at a hotel near or at the conference?
In most cases, yes. To get access to these special rates, you must first register for the conference.
