Pharma Marketing Excellence Japan 2009 Conference to Shed Light on Opportunities in a Changing Health Market

Japan’s healthcare system and legislation poses unique challenges to biopharma companies – drug price caps and the health ministry’s endorsement of generic drugs being just two examples among a slew of other complexities. And the population’s health outlook is quickly changing, with such factors as less healthy lifestyles and an aging population giving way to increased demand for products and treatments. Companies vying to succeed in this the world’s second largest pharmaceutical industry must stay on top of the latest market trends and effective marketing strategies to stand out from domestic and encroaching international competition.
Eyeforpharma’s Pharma Marketing Excellence Japan conference, taking place February 3rd to 4th, 2009 in Tokyo, will bring together industry thought leaders to discuss opportunities and strategies for more effective marketing and sales throughout the product lifecycle. The conference will also feature case studies with valuable insights from lessons learned and networking with experts and colleagues. Manhattan Research President Mark Bard will be presenting on the latest physician eHealth trends from Taking the Pulse® Asia, the company’s study and advisory service focused on how physicians across Asia use technology for their practices and communication with life sciences companies. Mr. Bard will cover topics such as Internet use, electronic detailing, PDAs/smartphones, email communication, and much more.
“With health IT quickly advancing and the government advocating healthier lifestyles for citizens, the traditional way of health management in Japan is evolving,” says Mr. Bard, “Pharmaceutical marketers are looking to understand how policy changes and the increasing use of health-related online sources are transforming the traditional physician-patient relationship, and ultimately, treatment and product outcomes. In light of this, we’re excited to debut some of the high level findings of the first Taking the Pulse® Asia study at Pharma Marketing Excellence Japan this February and to connect with colleagues to discuss where this market is heading in future years.”
