Mark Morgan is currently the Vice-President of Finance for North American Service Level Agreement management for Bayer Health Care. In this role, Mr. Morgan manages a $100 million budget for internal service agreements impacting information systems and services across Bayer’s Health Care divisions.

Previously, Mr. Morgan was the head of finance for the $1.5B Diabetes Care business of Bayer Healthcare.  In this role, Mr. Morgan oversees the global finance function for the fastest growing business within the diabetes business segment. Bayer Healthcare has succeeded in nearly doubling the revenue and tripling the profits for this business in just four years.

Prior to joining Bayer Healthcare, Mr. Morgan was active in a consulting business he founded, The Hypernicon Group. His company assisted pharmaceutical companies in assessing business plans and managing acquisition integration.

Mr. Morgan has significant experience working with major systems, including many SAP implementations, and major business processes including Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Balanced Scorecard performance measures.

Mr. Morgan has over 30 years of professional experience in finance leadership roles with top tier firms including Pfizer, SC Johnson Wax and Mylan Pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Morgan has been published five times and his publications have twice received writing honors.  Mr. Morgan is a distinguished alumni of his undergraduate alma mater, Indiana State University. He also holds an MBA from Illinois State University where he graduated with highest honors.

Mr. Cast is the Vice President of Specialty Pharmaceutical Sales at CuraScript, Inc. He joined the CuraScript Management Team in February of 2003 to develop CuraScript Biotech Solutions, a division built to capitalize on the expertise amassed within CuraScript regarding biological product launches and limited distribution support programs.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Express Scripts (ESI), CuraScript offers a fully integrated solution for pharmaceutical manufacturers including specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, and Pharma support services (PAP, Reimbursement HUBs, etc).  CuraScript is a well established industry leader in the Specialty Pharmaceutical market.

For the past 20 years, Mr. Cast has been involved in biotech manufacturer sales, formerly  as the Director of National Accounts at Serono, Inc. In that role he gained valuable insight into the requirements of a successful partnership between Biotech Manufacturers and Specialty Pharmacy Providers.

Dr. Robert Carbone received his doctorate from Carnegie-Mellon University. He co-developed the Carbone-Longini AEP filter which contributed to the application of Adaptive Filtering methods in forecasting. He founded The International Institute of Forecasters with Dr. Scott A. Armstrong, Dr. Robert Fildes, and Dr. Spyros Makridakis. A leading academic, Dr. Carbone served for several years as editor of the Journal of Forecasting and he co-developed the Carbone-Makridakis forecasting system (CMFS) introduced in Management Science, Vol. 32, No. 3, 1986.

Dr. Carbone has been presiding over Futurion, a worldwide provider of forecasting technology and consultancy for more than 20 years. In this venture, Dr. Carbone has been involved in the design and implementation of forecasting solutions and processes in hundreds of companies of all sizes, in all industries. More specifically in the pharmaceutical industry, he has assisted companies such as AstraZeneca, Amgen, Hoechst Roussel, Janssen, E.R. Radi Haloub,

Radi Haloub is currently a PhD student at the University of Huddersfield / Business School. His main research focus is Pharmaceutical Sales Forecasting.

Previously, Mr. Haloub was assigned as a Key Account Manager (for key account pharmacy chain) in IATCO – Procter and Gamble Distributor in Saudi Arabia. In this role, he was responsible for managing customer sales, customer business development, employing and training of sales team, market analysis and managing outlets distribution. 

Prior to joining IATCO, Mr. Haloub worked in Hikma Pharmaceuticals for more than 8 years in various sales and marketing positions in Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In Jordan, Mr. Haloub was responsible for building new line products in Hikma Pharmaceuticals in MENA countries (Middle East and North Africa), planning and conducting marketing research, training sales teams, contacting international suppliers, launching and re-launching new and existing products in different MENA countries and re-positioning existing products.

In 2005, Hikma Pharmaceutical’s management nominated Mr. Haloub to re-launch its image in the Saudi market, where he became responsible for the sales and marketing activities of injectable products in the Saudi Arabian Market / Western Area. Mr. Haloub managed to accomplish a doubling in the injectable product’s sales in the western area within 2 years, employ a new injectable team and train them about hospital and institutional selling skills in addition to launching of new injectable items.

The University of Huddersfield granted Mr. Haloub a full-tuition PhD scholarship for the duration of 36 months, where he is currently conducting a novel research in pharmaceutical sales forecasting that is expected to result in a prescriptive model for a theoretical conceptual stage in the process of sales forecasting, and an understanding of how Bayesian theory can be utilized to improve the predictive capabilities of pharmaceutical companies.

Mr. Haloub holds a BA in Pharmacy from Amman University and a Masters in Marketing from University of Huddersfield. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer.

Charles comes to Johnson & Johnson’s Washington, DC office after six years as the head of ALZA’s Government Affairs operations, nearly thirty years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and over forty years of active political involvement. Charles’ focus is on pharmaceutical pricing and access issues, federal proposals affecting
drug delivery technology and California’s congressional delegation.
Before establishing ALZA Government Affairs, Charles was General Counsel of Syntex Laboratories (1983-1995) and an associate at the Wall Street firm of Cahill, Gordon & Reindel (1973-1983). Charles ran the American side of Cahill’s Paris office for several years, negotiating
agreements (often for PhRMA clients) in countries throughout both Eastern and Western Europe, the then-Soviet Union and Africa. Charles has served as an advisor to the National Institute of Drug abuse and the European Economic Community on AIDS and disability law.

Prior to his current role as President of Scarsin, Mr. Minshull worked with Eli Lilly in a number of Marketing and Business Development roles including CNS Team Leader overseeing a portfolio of products.  It was in these formative years that Mr. Minshull gained an understanding of how valuable quality analytics could be in supporting good business decisions.

Peter Coles is a member of the Negotiation, Organizations, and Markets Unit at Harvard Business School. He received his A.B. in mathematics from Princeton University and his PhD in economics in 2006 from Stanford University.

His current research deals with market design, and especially the incentives for participants in online marketplaces.  Peter has recently written cases on prediction markets at Google, strategy at Microsoft's adCenter, pricing and the "market ecosystem" at TheLadders.com, and on several other topics.  Current projects include the design of a prediction market for drug clinical trials, as well as analysis of a signaling mechanism he helped design for the American Economics Association to streamline the job market for economists.

Along with Professor Ben Edelman, Peter teaches "Managing Networked Businesses," a second year course at Harvard Business School.  With Professor Al Roth he co-teaches a doctoral course in market design in the Harvard Economics Department.

Fiona Murray is an Associate Professor of Management in the Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management.   She received BA and MA degrees from the University of Oxford in Chemistry before coming to the United States where she received her doctoral degree from Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.  Her research interests then moved away from the bench to the study of science commercialization, the organization of scientific research and the role of science in national competitiveness. After a short time on the faculty of Oxford’s Said Business School Fiona joined the MIT Sloan School of Management where she studies and teaches innovation and entrepreneurship with an emphasis on the life sciences sector. Fiona is well-known for her work on how growing economic incentives, particularly intellectual property (IP), influence the rate and direction of scientific progress, particularly in the areas of genomics, stem cells, and mouse genetics.  Fiona works with a range of firms designing global organizations working with a wide range of internal and external innovators (through traditional contracts and “Open Innovation” mechanisms) that are both commercially successful and at the forefront of science. She is also actively involved in policy debates over the appropriate use of IP and licensing in universities and more recently debates on when and when not to use patents to promoted discovery research in neglected diseases. She is also interested in new emerging organizational arrangements for effective commercialization of science including public-private partnerships, not-for profits, venture philanthropy, and university-initiated seed funding.  In particular, Fiona has made an extensive examination of investments in a broad range of institutional arrangements to support scientific productivity both in the US and beyond in emerging science-based nations such as China and India.  Her research has been widely published in a diverse range of scientific and social science journals including Science, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Biotechnology, Research Policy, Organization Science and the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.

Bob has nearly 20 years of experience in forecasting across multiple industries (pensions, automotive, food, drinks) but for the last 12 years has been focused on the pharmaceutical industry.  Bob began his career as an actuary in the UK, then following a few years in consultancy, moved to Eli Lilly in Indianapolis where he has led the Global Forecasting Group since 2000.  His role encompasses long range strategic planning , decision support and new product forecasting throughout development.   Bob has an MA in mathematics from Oxford University.
